RFID is open to identity theft [vid]
What's the common denominator between biometric passports, smart cards and electronic driving licenses? RFID - sometimes called "spy chips". Never a good idea to start with... so maybe this video will open more people's eyes.

Facebook 'violates privacy laws' [article]
What a suprise! The Canadian Internet Policy and Public Interest Clinic has looked at Facebook and found it doesn't do enough to keep it's users data private.
Quote: "Some 14-year-old kid might not know ... the ramifications of having their private information disclosed to third parties."

Barcampchiangmai [contentclouds] [securityworld08]
Wow! The first ever Barcamp (tech conference) in Chiangmai was a great success with over 120 people attending presentations from 11am-6pm in three rooms.
Search for barcampchiangmai to find photos of the event.
I gave a presentation on Content Cloud Visualisation and a summary of the network security conference "Security World 2008". Highlights for me were the discussions on content Managment Systems and Social Networking Sites.

Barcamp Chiangmai [link]
The "open" tech conference is coming to chiangmai on 17th May.
I'll be participating and hopefully talking about Content Cloud Visualisation.
Check out the whole barcamp thing at barcamp.org - and amazingly enough it has nothing to do with drinking in a tent (Something I'm actually quite a pro at).

Hackers target the highstreet. [article]
The "Hackers Panel" at the InfoSecurity Europe conference in London this week gave their view of the next victims of cybercrime - big UK highstreet retailers. Many have embraced the web to advance their business model and will now be easy targets compared to banks and govenment services.
More in this article about the rise in attacks from China and the possible cover this gives to western governments efforts at cyber warfare!

Topless Meetings! [article] [fact]
An interesting article about the new trend in topless meetings - that's lap-topless.
I know that when people are multi-tasking they are also half-ignoring you, especially men... sorry guys but it's a documented fact - all that hunter-gatherer ancestry, it's in your genes.
